RESUMEN
Staphylococcus aureus es el estafilococo más importante en la
patología cunícola, ya que se encuentra instaurado en la
mayoría de explotaciones industriales originando una
medicación, en ocasiones excesiva, que da lugar a multitud de
resistencias en los animales.
La aparición de resistencias bacterianas al empleo de
antibióticos ha hecho que, desde hace unos años, se
piense de nuevo en los virus bacteriófagos como una alternativa
terapéutica al empleo de los antimicrobianos actuales.
ABSTRACT
Staphylococcus aureus is a major pathogen responsible for
staphylococcal infections in rabbits. S. aureus is isolated in most of
industrial farms originating a medication, sometimes excessive, that
gives rise to multitude of antibiotic resistance in the animals.
The appearance of these resistance to the antibiotics has done that,
for years, has again been thinking about the phages as a therapeutic
alternative to the use of the present antimicrobials.
