Resumen

La evolución de la cunicultura industrial nos ha llevado a aprovechar mejor el espacio construido, pero el nido, en general, se ha ido volviendo menos protector, inconveniente que debe ser suplido con un mejor control del ambiente y manejo. Las estrategias de manejo del nido serán aquellas que nos permitan cubrir las necesidades que sepamos reconocer en nuestra maternidad, tendentes a conseguir que el ritmo de producción de las hembras sea óptimo y estable para el corto, medio y largo plazo. Aunque existan estrategias útiles comunes a la mayoría de las explotaciones, de las que aquí se hace una revisión, el protocolo del manejo en una maternidad debe de ser sopesado y afinado en función de las peculiaridades de cada granja.


Abstract
Intensive rabbit breeding tends to improve the efficiency of the building space, but the nest becomes into a less protector one. This deficiency must be supplied creating a better environment and management. Management strategies with the nest will permit us cover all the necessities we can recognize, in order to find the optimal and more stable production of the females for the short, medium and long-term. Although there are usefull strategies that can be used in all the farms, reviewed here, the protocole on maternity handling has to be adapted for the peculiarities of each farm.
